Cary Gastroenterology Associates is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Brian Lappas and Dr. Nidhi Malhotra to our talented team of gastroenterologists.

Dr. Lappas is a graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. He received his Masters of Public Health from the UNC Gillings Scholl of Global Public Health and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina Medical School. He completed his internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, and then completed his Fellowship at the University of North Carolina, in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and was Chief Fellow in 2020-2021. Dr. Lappas is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Malhotra is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Malhotra did her internship and residency in internal medicine at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C., and continued her fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology here, as well. Dr. Malhotra also completed an advanced fellowship in inflammatory bowel diseases at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore Maryland. Dr. Malhotra served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Medstar Washington Hospital Center and Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. prior to coming to Cary Gastroenterology. Dr. Malhotra is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
